UFO’s Susanville Looks Skyward
November 14, 1975

SUSANVILLE (AP) — A rash of unidentified flying object sightings has been reported this week in this High Sierra community.

Local radio station, KSUE AM, received 65 calls on Tuesday night, when disc jockey Craig Hanson said he saw three bright lights with red pulsation.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office said Mark Paul of Susanville was driving when he and two passengers spotted two UFOs with red and green lights – one going up, the other down.

The Sheriff’s Office received other calls, but they were not recorded because they were similar.

Rancher Bill Jeter of Janesville, east of Susanville, reported spotting an object on Monday and Tuesday nights. He said he thought it was the remains of a spacecraft re-entering the atmosphere.

Sheriff’s Deputy John Villalovos took a picture two weeks ago of an object which two young hunters said repeatedly buzzed their vehicle. But there was only a light spot on the negative.

Villalovos said it resembled a bright star.
