Shooting Golf Instead of Turkeys for Thanksgiving
November 22, 1930

The indoor golf club management at the Story Club reverts to type and instead of using guns for their Thanksgiving turkey shoot propose to use clubs.

A three-day tournament has been arranged in which you shoot golf balls instead of turkeys but the winner is permitted to select his turkey out of the Thanksgiving stock of the Mt. Lassen Packing Company and if he doesn’t get one it is his own fault.

In the good ole days, father shouldered his gun and went out to bring home the turkey but now he is liable to find mother coming home with a turkey over one shoulder and a gold club over the other before he can get his shoes on and get started.

And another of man’s rights and privileges has been usurped by mere women.
