School Teachers in Lassen County Attend Institute

Teachers of Lassen County are attending the joint institute which opened today at Chico, with teachers in attendance from Lassen, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Modoc, Plumas and Tehama counties.
Schools will be closed all this week, inasmuch as the institute will be held three days and Thursday and Friday the school will observe Thanksgiving.
Wallace C. Mass, superintendent of Lassen County schools, will be in charge of the general session in the auditorium of the Chico State College. Mrs. Hattie Spencer, principal of the Susanville elementary schools, is a member of the institute resolutions committee.
Lassen County teachers will get together this evening at a dinner.
Rudolph Lindquist, director of the Ohio State University laboratory schools, will be the principal speaker during the conference, being scheduled for an address Wednesday afternoon. State Superintendent Vierling Kersey will also speak.
Accompanying him is his faculty members of which are: Miss Blanche Kent, Miss Catherine Williams, Miss Lou LaBrant, Miss Virginia Soames Sanderson.
The first three will be in charge of the elementary sectional meeting, while Miss Sanderson will lead the discussion in the secondary school division. Actual teaching demonstrations will be presented by the visiting experts.
