Lassen Plans School Event
November 9, 1953

An historical pageant and “open house” will feature the 50th anniversary of the founding of Lassen Union High School November 19. This will be preceded by a turkey dinner.

Plans are being finished by the celebration’s sponsors, the Parent-Teacher Association, faculty and students.

The pageant will show the school’s history since its beginning, September 14, 1903, when two faculty members conducted classes in the old Washington Grammar School.

Many alumni are taking part in reconstructing the story of the early days. Inspiration for the festival was given by Principal Clinton B. Nielson.

Posters under the direction of Mrs. George Pence. Window displays about town with Mrs. Wells Whitney in charge. Costuming is under the direction of Mrs. Lewis. History and research, Mrs. Poulsen.
