Men Close Store To Join Service
October 3, 1942

Closing of the Jensen Brothers Hardware Store at 727 Main Street for the duration of the war was announced this week by Abe and Jud Jensen, the proprietors. Both are to leave soon for the armed forces, according to the announcement.

Another Susanville Main Street store changed hands this week. Leslie’s Jewelry Store, formerly operated by Leslie Mastolier, is now under the management of Walter Jefferies. Mastolier has volunteered for service in the army air force reserve and is now in training. Jefferies comes here from Seattle, Wash.

Under an agreement, the former owner will return to Susanville at the end of the war and will reenter the firm. Mrs. Mastolier will continue to be associated with the business for the duration.
