Opening of Story Clubhouse

The opening of the new clubhouse of the Fruit Growers Supply company will take place Saturday evening, Sept. 16, in the form of a reception and dance. The official name of the club is the Story club, named after the pioneer of the Fruit Growers association.
The Story club will meet the social needs of the employees of the company. There will be a reading room and library for the ladies. The ladies plan to use this department as a social room where they will often meet and do fancy work or sew. They can also give parties at the club and spare themselves a great deal of trouble in entertaining large numbers at home.
There is a fully equipped kitchen for this purpose and every accommodation is available.
The men have every equipment for a first-class clubhouse. There will be no gambling of any kind tolerated in the club. There are smoking rooms, pool tables—all the accessories that belong to a club.
On Saturday evening the dance will start at 8 p.m. and close at 12. The management is very anxious to inaugurate these hours for social affairs among the Fruit Growers employees. These hours are so much more preferred and are really better taste than dancing until 3 and 4 and 5 a. m. One is absolutely unfit for the next day’s work when these hours are observed.
A large crowd is anticipated as everybody is invited. Millar’s orchestra will play for the affair.
