Work Begins on New Store Building At Corner of Lassen and Cottage; Will Occupy 5,000 Square Feet

Work has begun on another unit in the rapidly growing business district in Susanville.

A five thousand square foot grocery building, which will be completed about November 1, with fair working weather, will house Purity Stores in Susanville on the corner of Cottage and Lassen streets.

The building which is being constructed under the direction of the George H. Lewis Realty Company of San Francisco, and by Younger Brothers, contractors, will be a one-story reinforced concrete structure.

It will be lighted by 20 or more skylights in the 19 foot dome roof and will be completely air conditioned. It is being built largely by local labor.

The building will occupy about one-third of a 110 by 120 foot corner lot, the remainder of which will be paved for parking space. An awning will cover a part of the parking space adjoining the building.

No figures regarding the price of the improvement have been released, but will result in a large sum of money being spent in this area.
