DDT Spray Tried in Lassen Dairy
September 27, 1945
Last week the extension service sprayed two dairy market milk plants with DDT to kill flies. The knowledge of practical use of DDT insecticides in agriculture, and round the home, is still far from complete.
Results from the spraying in Lassen county of the Dairy building looks very promising. On the second day after the spraying, there were no flies in any part of the building, which included the milk barn, bottling room, heating plants and storage rooms.
Later on in the month other dairymen in Lassen county will have an opportunity to visit theses dairies to see the results for themselves.
