Freshmen, Sophs Set for Fight
September 3, 1934
Fresh and Sophomores of Lassen Union high school are today engaged in their first interclass clash of the new term, the annual “tie-up”, staged on the high school athletic field.
The classes will be lined up on opposite ends of the field and on the signal of the referee will charge. The class having the most opponents effectively trussed will be declared the winner.
The “tie-up” generally establishes the status of Frosh and Sophs. The victory for the former will mean that the Sophs will not have as easy a time this year with their traditional enemies while a victory for the Sophomores will mean the Frosh are to be the underdogs for the balance of the term.
