The Lassen County Office of Education is officially calling on local businesses and community organizations to help inspire the next generation of professionals during its 4th Annual Career Opportunity & Skills Day. Scheduled for April 15th from 9:00a.m. to 12:45p.m., this high-energy event serves as a bridge between the classroom and the workforce, offering high school students from across the county a firsthand look at the diverse industries thriving right here in our own backyard.
This isn’t your average career fair. The day is specifically designed to move beyond simple job awareness and into the realm of hands-on exploration. By hosting interactive booths and providing live demonstrations, participating professionals give students the chance to engage directly with the tools of the trade and gain real-world insights into the skills and training required for various career pathways.
James Hall, Director of Student, Family & Community Engagement at LCOE, emphasizes that the event is about helping local youth see the vast possibilities available to them within Lassen County. By partnering with the business community, LCOE aims to create meaningful experiences that empower students as they begin to plan their futures and understand the connection between their current education and a successful career.
LCOE is currently seeking enthusiastic participants who are eager to share their expertise and connect with the local workforce of tomorrow. Whether you represent a specialized trade, a tech firm, a public service agency, or a local small business, your involvement can make a lasting impact on a student’s trajectory.
