Lassen County’s Holiday with Hero program for disadvantaged children in the area is in need of funds and local firefighters will take to the street this Saturday to ‘Fill the Boot’ with donations from the community.
Holiday with a Hero is funded by the generosity of local folks and the goal is to provide each child in the program with $100 to shop. Last year more than 150 kids went shopping, and local agencies are hoping to surpass the number this year.
Children in need can be nominated by anyone and forms can be picked up at Susanville Fire Department or Susanville Police Department.
On December 1st, firefighters from various agencies will be lining Main Street to accept your contributions. Please come out and support this awesome event that helps make so many local children happy.
If you are unable to attend, donations can be made at the Fire Department, Police Department or any Rotarian. Checks can be made out to the Fireman’s Fund.
