Lois Marek, a founding, charter-member of California chapter SU of PEO in Susanville, was honored by the organization with her 50-year pin last week.
Marek will turn ninety-nine this December and is fondly described by Barbara Ahrens, on the left in the picture, as being extremely helpful and welcoming, a real sister.
Georgianne Hall, credits Lois with encouraging her to become more involved at the state level, which she has done repeatedly.
Marek’s son, Bill Weston, is thankful for his mother’s quick wit and always “being there” for him and all her family and friends. Lois exemplifies a life well lived!
PEO is a philanthropic educational organization providing educational opportunities for women. The local chapter was organized in 1970.
