Local Salvation Army Gearing Up for the Holiday Season

The Susanville Salvation Army is now accepting application for their Christmas Food Box and Angel Giving Tree programs.

Applications are available at the Salvation Army office located at 1560 Main Street, in the Grocery Outlet shopping center, Tuesday through Friday 8:30am-2:00pm closed 11:30-12:30pm.

Susanville Salvation Army Coordinator Juanita Williams said that organization is also accepting food and gift donations for the Christmas program.

Ring the bell for a great cause

The holiday season is right around the corner, which means that it is almost Red Kettle time again! The Susanville Salvation Army is calling it’s bell ringing troops into action!

“Almost all of our funding comes from our Red Kettle Drive to provide assistance to residents of Lassen County,” explains Williams, “Ringing the Red Kettle Bell is a great way for youth to earn community service hours, a great service organization outreach, or fun family activity.”

Some ringers sing carols, play instruments, play Christmas music, or simply brighten someone’s day with a Merry Christmas. Please call 257-0314 for more information.
