Lassen Family Services CASA Program is looking for community members to advocate for children in the dependency court system.
CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, are volunteers who are appointed by the Family Court Judge and are specially trained to advocate for children in the dependency court system. They make impartial recommendations to the Court as to what is in the best interest of the child.
There will be an orientation meeting on Thursday, September 8th, at Lassen Family Services, 1306 Riverside Drive, from 5:30 – 7:30p.m.

To participate in the program the following criteria apply:
- Must be 21 years of age or over.
- Must pass a thorough background check including fingerprinting.
- Attend 32 hour CASA training.
- Devote at least 8 hours a month to the CASA case.
- Have a car and current auto insurance.
- Provide a DMV printout of driving record.
