A series of fun community events, beginning with a March 17th fundraiser at Wheels West car dealership in Susanville, will help raise funds for a great cause – the Lassen County Office of Education’s annual Sober Graduation program for local seniors.
At 10:00a.m. Monday, Superintendent of Schools Patty Gunderson will be “On the Lift for Sober Grad” with a goal of raising $5,000 dollars. Suspended high in the air on a hydraulic lift, Gunderson will be allowed to come down when the goal is reached.
Everyone is encourage to come by Wheels West, on Main Street, across from the high school, with monetary donations, gift cards, or even gift baskets with an assigned value and all of this will go towards the $5,000 goal.
Donations and contributions by businesses, organization or individuals will be recognized by the LCOE on social media.
Leaping Leprechaun Poker Run
On March 29th the LCOE will host the Leaping Leprechaun Poker Run starting, and ending, with stops at Lassen Ale Works Boardroom, and four other stops in Westwood and Chester.
There are prizes for best and worst poker hands. Visit five checkpoints, drawing a card at each to build your best poker hand.
The stops are at Bottle and Brush in Susanville, Buffalo Chips in Westwood and both the Rusty Chandelier and the Timber House in Chester.
There is no set route – just complete all stops and return your scorecard by 4:00p.m.
Check in starts at 10:00a.m. and the Poker Run kicks off at 11:00. All scorecards must be turned in by 4:00p.m.
Entry Fees are $35 per person with includes a scorecard, commemorative glass and T-shirt. Tickets for a couple are $50 and include two scorecards, commemorative glasses and T-shirts. Additional scorecards are $10 each.

Shake Your Shamrocks
Immediately following the Leaping Leprechaun Poker Run on March 29th, at the Lassen Ale Works Boardroom will present a night of games, music, and community spirit in support of the Class of 2025! A $20 ticket includes an opportunity to win ticket, a Bingo Card and a Commemorative Glass.
For an additional fee you can also enjoy family games and additional Bingo cards, a cornhole tournament, food and beverages and craft vendors.
All the money raised will go towards sober graduation.
