Margaret Estar Kurts
Margaret Estar Kurts was born January 21, 1933 in Loma Linda, CA. to Bert and Elizabeth Rosa. She passed away November 26, 2015. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald Kurts of Susanville, CA., Daughter- Peggy Kurts of Sparks, NV., Son- Bob Kurts of Chico, CA., Sister- Lorene Strickland of Fort Worth, TX., Brother Hubert Edward Rosa of Riverside, CA., and Grandchildren, Jenna, Samantha, and Dakota. She was preceded in death by her Brother Irwin Rosa.
Margaret grew up in Portola Calif. where she was home schooled until the fourth grade. Her family moved to Fallon NV. giving her the opportunity to attend the Seventh Day Adventist school. She continued her education at La Sierra Academy, graduating the 12th grade in 1951. She and Donald Kurts were married two weeks later.
Margaret worked at Mather Air Force Base for a short period of time, and as a Certified Nurse Assistant but ultimately did what she loved most of all which was supporting her husband and raising their children. Margaret valued her friendships and was loved for her sweet disposition, kind loving heart, and contagious laugh. She loved the Lord and lived her life with faithful devotion. It is comforting to know God will give us courage & hope each day as we turn to Him…
A memorial service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist church where Margaret was a devout member, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
