It’s with sadness to announce the passing of Marilyn Jean Peri on September 11, 2024 after a battle with dementia.
Marilyn was born to Howard and Audrey Gray on March 5, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. In the early years they moved to San Jose where Marilyn graduated from high school and met Thornton Edmonds. They married and had two daughters. In 1973 they moved to Janesville, Ca. They enjoyed spending time at Antelope Lake, having friends over for BBQ’s and looking for arrowheads. Marilyn worked as a bartender at the Cliff House later known as the White House and the Talk of the Town.
When Thorny passed away in 1992 Marilyn was understandably heartbroken. But was so lucky to have met and eventually married Elmer Peri. For the last 32 years they have enjoyed their life together as it grew to include their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many great times were had dancing at the Pioneer, playing darts and pool at the T&A with friends, some travel and just enjoying being together.
Marilyn worked for a time at the Diamond Mountain Casino where many more friends were made. Marilyn loved the sunshine and planting beautiful flowers in her yard. Most will remember Marilyn for her beautiful smile and blue eyes.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Elmer Peri who took the most amazing care of her from the moment they met but especially through her battle with dementia. Daughters Lisa Edmonds of Susanville, Ca., Tori Fallis of Cottonwood, and step-daughters Marshel Couso of Susanville, Ca., and Gerrilyn Peri of Atascadero, Ca., 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
No services will be held but we ask you to plant something beautiful in your yard to remember Marilyn by.
