A new after-school program at McKinley Elementary is giving students a chance to take part in a healthy activity while learning the joy of dance. The Susanville City Kickettes are taking time out of their busy rehearsal and performance schedules to teach the 30-minute dance classes with a variety of routines and genres.
“They are 10 amazing young woman who truly love dance,” said J and J Performing Arts Artistic Director and Owner Jessica Newton Wade, “but also love serving their community while promoting the arts.”
You can catch the Susanville City Kickettes, a not-for-profit group, at numerous shows and community events. Recently the dancers performed at the 4H WHY Conference, the girls will dance at HUSA Uptown Halloween Celebration and the Chamber’s Magical Country Christmas.
In addition to the McKinley after-school program they are also busy preparing for their annual Christmas Extraordinaire to be held at the Veterans Hall on December 4th and 5th.
