The Lassen County Office of Education is proud to report on the incredible success of McKinley School’s Kids Heart Challenge and Color Run, which took place on May 16th and brought together students, families, and staff for a day of heart-healthy fun and community spirit.

With 94 students registered, the event raised an impressive $4,931.24 in support of the American Heart Association. McKinley students demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm and generosity throughout the fundraiser, embracing the opportunity to give back while learning about heart health, perseverance, and the importance of physical activity.

The celebration culminated in a vibrant Color Run, where students laughed, ran, and of course were showered in colorful fun. The school grounds came alive with excitement as students marked the end of their fundraising journey with energy and pride.

Adding to the meaningful day, 25 families participated in hands-only CPR training, further supporting the Kids Heart Challenge mission of building healthier communities and equipping families with lifesaving skills.

McKinley’s Kids Heart Challenge has become a beloved tradition, and this year’s event was a shining example of what happens when a school and community come together for a great cause.

A huge thank you goes out to the students, families, and staff who made this event such a success.
