Michael Jean Baptist Bidart – January 19th 2025

Michael Jean Baptist Bidart was born in Susanville June 24th 1949 and passed peacefully on January 19th 2025.

Mike lived a wild life. There have been many stories shared about his life in the fast lane, literally, with his passion for riding his Harley’s around and rumored lead foot. He raced stock cars, drag raced, loved Nasar, and even shared a speed boat he would take out to Eagle Lake. He was where everyone went to have a good time and live fast. He was thee “go to guy”. He may have slowed down on the roads but one thing about him that was always admirable was his work ethic. There was no doubt Mike showed up, at work and in life. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it. Everyone he met loved him. Everyone he worked with and everyone that came in to the parts stores looked forward to seeing him, he was kind, helpful, and quick to make jokes. He always had a good attitude and just wanted to make peoples hearts happy. The impact he made on everyone he met will not be forgotten.

Mike may have been considered a crazy cat man, he loved his cats and even adopted the ones that roamed around the neighborhood giving them each a name. He was happy to spoil them, so much so some might argue they ate better than he did. That just goes to show the kind of person Mike was, he didn’t judge where anyone came from but was always willing to help.

He was a frugal and simple man, but the way he gave to others said so much about his character, he listened to others passions and offered support in any way he could. He was passionate about taking care of his family, his only daughter meant the world to him, and he was a loving and supportive grandpa and great grandpa. He attended every holiday dinner, making sure he brought jerky sticks for the family dogs and a hot wheel and something mine craft for his great grandsons. He was always one phone call or one stop at the auto parts shop away, and would always welcome us with a “hello sweetheart”.

Mike will be remembered for his unwavering support and ability to make people smile. His legacy will live on in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his mother Monique Bidart, father Jean Bidart and beloved wife Novis “Jeanie” Bidart. He is survived by his daughter Chris Sullivan, granddaughters Kyrie Skaggs, Jordan McRiley and Dominique Laferty, and great grandsons Aaron and Junior Vinson.

There will be a Celebration of Life on February 8th at 11:00a.m. at Community Church office at 65 South Lassen Street.
