Two drivers suffered minor injuries Tuesday when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Highway 395 and Sears Road near Janesville.
According to details released by the California Highway Patrol, at around 3:25p.m. Janesville resident Judy Blevins was traveling southbound on US-395 in her blue Toyota Corolla while Standish resident Rita Luallen was stopped at the intersection in her white Dodge Durango.
The CHP investigation found that Luallen failed to see the blue Corolla traveling southbound as she pulled into the intersection. Blevins braked and swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid colliding Durango; however, the report said, there was insufficient time to completely avoid a collision.
The front of the Durango struck the left rear of the Corolla causing the passenger car to spin out of control before coming to rest south and east of the intersection.
Despite the collision Luallen was able to move her vehicle to the shoulder of Sears Road. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and complained of pain; Blevins was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Clinic by SEMSA ambulance as a precaution, Luallen sought her own medical treatment.
