The Monticola Club has announced scholarship opportunities for graduating Lassen High School and Lassen Community College students.
Three scholarships – each in the amount of $500 – are offered to Lassen High School students.
A vocational scholarship is available to a student planning to attend an accredited vocational school or college.
The Monticola Memorial and Spencer Memorial Scholarships are available to Susanville High School students seeking high education at a two-or-four-year college or university.
High school students interested in applying for these awards should contact the Lassen High School counseling office for the appropriate application. Deadline for these applications to be returned to the high school counseling office is no later than Monday, March 25th.
The Etta Tarry Memorial Scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to a Lassen College graduate continuing his or her education at a four-year college or university. Interested students should contact the Lassen College Financial Aid Office for an application.
The deadline for the completed application to be returned to the financial aid office is Monday, March 25th.
Monticola Club Scholarship chairman Georgianne Hall said the recipients will be named and honored on April 18th at the Monticola Club’s monthly luncheon meeting as well as at the high school and LCC awards nights in May.
Monticola Club is a volunteer women’s community service organization founded in Susanville in 1912. One hundred and eighty scholarships have been awarded since the first Spencer Memorial Scholarship was presented at Lassen High School in 1959.
