The California Highway Patrol is releasing information about a Monday evening motorcycle accident on Highway 395 that sent two Oregon residents to Renown for treatment of moderate injuries.
According to the CHP report the accident occurred on 395 just north of Herlong Access Road as 66 year-old Grants Pass, Oregon resident Thomas Garton was driving his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when his rear tire began to deflate and the vehicle began to swerve back and forth.
Garton’s vehicle then collided with the roadway throwing the him and his passenger, 65 year-old Williams, Oregon resident Beverly Shuman to the pavement causing moderate injuries.
Garton was hospitalized with abrasions to his face, arms and legs. Shuman was treated for abrasions to her right wrist.
The roadway was closed for several minutes to allow for extraction of the patients via medical helicopter following the collision.
