The Motorheads, a Susanville car club, will be collecting toys, clothing and school supplies at their car show and meet this Saturday, December 2nd, to help support the Susanville Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
Made up of local car enthusiasts, Motorhead spokesperson Shane Holland said the club is rising to the challenge to fill the void left when learning that Toys for Tots isn’t going to happen this year.
“The Salvation Army Angel Tree is a fantastic program that works to put gifts under the trees for hundreds of deserving youngsters each year,” says Holland.
Gift tickets are provided that outline a child’s wish or need such as school supplies, clothing, toys, etc. and donors will pick up a gift ticket or three, buy the item or items, and then return them unwrapped to be distributed before the holiday.
“This is the first year that the Motorheads have put their wheels on the road for this project so please come by to help make it a wild success!”
The car show and collection event starts at 8:30a.m., December 2nd at Carlson’s Tire Pros on Riverside Drive.
“Come by and see some cool cars, meet some fine people, and grab your Angel Tree tickets. Donated gifts need to be brought back to Carlson’s before 11:30 to be included in the caravan of gifts to be delivered to the Salvation Army.”
Gift tickets can also be picked up, and gifts can be dropped off at Plumas Bank in Susanville before December 2nd, to be included in the caravan. All donations are tax-deductible and include a receipt.
