The Motorheads, a Susanville car club, will be collecting toys, clothing and school supplies at their car show and meet this Saturday, November 16th, to help support the Susanville Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
This is the second year for the Toy Drive, which members of the car enthusiasts’ club put together last year after learning about the demise of our local Toys for Tots program.
“The Salvation Army Angel Tree is a fantastic program that works to put gifts under the trees for hundreds of deserving youngsters each year,” says Chief Motorhead Shane Holland.
Gift tickets are provided that outline a child’s wish or need such as school supplies, clothing, toys, etc. and donors will pick up a gift ticket or three, buy the item or items, and then return them unwrapped to be distributed before the holiday.
The car show and collection event starts at 8:00, this Saturday morning, at Carlson’s Tire Pros on Riverside Drive.
“Come by and see some cool cars, meet some fine people, and grab your Angel Tree tickets. Donated gifts need to be brought back to Carlson’s before 11:30 to be included in the caravan of gifts to be delivered to the Salvation Army.”
Gift tickets can also be picked up, and gifts can be dropped off at Plumas Bank in Susanville before November 16th, to be included in the caravan. All donations are tax-deductible and include a receipt.
If you need more information please text or call Holland at 1.530.867.7005.
