On Wednesday, Susanville’s Future Farmers of America students took to the Lassen County Fairgrounds to compete in the Sectional Finals, delivering a powerhouse performance that secured several spots in the upcoming regional competition.
According to FFA Advisor Elizabeth Ammon, the chapter’s hard work paid off: nine individual speakers and both Parliamentary Procedure teams officially qualified for the Regionals, which will be held next month in Chico.
In these competitive brackets, a top-four finish is required to move forward, and Susanville students consistently claimed those top spots.

Susanville swept through multiple speaking categories, demonstrating incredible poise and quick thinking.
Creed Public Speaking: Giselle Lewis took 2nd high individual, followed closely by Samantha Bailey in 3rd.

Celebrating National FFA Week
The timing of these victories couldn’t be better. Next week, from February 21st through the 28th, Susanville will join chapters across the country to celebrate National FFA Week.
This annual event is designed to share the mission of FFA and highlight the impact the organization has on its members – developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
