Norma Lee Yorg
Norma Lee Yorg, of Susanville, California, died peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, February 4th, 2015. Norma was born January 18th, 1949 in Lakeport, California, to Gordon and Genevieve Thrash.
She dearly loved her only sibling Sharon who raised Norma after her parents died when she was an adolescent. She spent her childhood in Covelo, California, moving to Susanville in 1972. Norma is survived by her loving husband Floriano Yorg, brother-in-law Jack Brown of Covelo, son Jarrett Black and his wife Alicia, step-daughter Nicole Yorg, grandchildren Myranda Heard, Stevee Heard, Teagan Pearsall, Anna Black, Rachel Black, Samantha Brill, Isabella Brill, and Kenny Brill, niece Melody Brown, and nephews Gordon and Lloyd Brown. Norma was preceded in death by her sister Sharon and her daughter Veronica.
Many knew Norma from her years waitressing at Denny’s restaurant in Susanville. She loved people and keeping up on the happenings from everyone in town and also faithfully kept in touch with her family out of town. She was an avid reader and was never without a stack of library books. She was a caring presence in her family’s life and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held Saturday February 28th 10:00 a.m. at the Susanville Community Center on Weatherlow St. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you tip a waitress generously in Norma’s memory.
