North Street Electrical Fire Damages Residence

0

An electrical fire in a residence on North Street Sunday morning caused damage to an attic and an electrical panel, along with water damage to the home’s interior according to a report from the Susanville Fire Department.

At around 1:10a.m., the fire department responded to 1005 North Street for the structure fire, arriving to find heavy smoke showing from the rear vents of a single-story house.

“Firefighters acted quickly to control the progress and extinguish the fire,” explains SFD Captain Andrew Jarrett. “The fire damage was contained to the attic and the breaker panel box on the front of the house.”

“The interior of the house sustained water damage caused by suppression efforts.”

Jarrett pointed to an overloaded electrical system as the fire’s cause.

“The Susanville Fire Department would like to thank Cal Fire, Lake Forest Fire Department, Susanville Police Department, Susanville Public Work, and LMUD for their quick response and assistance with the incident.”
