Starting a family is one of life’s biggest adventures, and Northeastern Rural Health Clinics is making sure local parents don’t have to navigate it alone.
NRHC has announced a new five-week childbirth preparedness series, beginning March 3rd, designed to empower expectant mothers and their labor partners as they head toward their big day.
If your due date is falling in April or May 2026, this is the perfect time to get your questions answered and your birth plan in motion.
This isn’t just a lecture; it is a fully interactive experience. Participants should plan to dress comfortably and bring plenty of water, as the sessions include hands-on practice for movement and breathing techniques to help manage labor effectively.
Throughout the course, the curriculum covers the entire journey of labor and delivery. The sessions dive deep into the birth process and offer practical guidance on relaxation and comfort techniques. To ensure parents feel confident in a clinical setting, the class also focuses on informed decision-making, medical interventions, and what to expect during a Cesarean birth. The support continues even after delivery, with dedicated time for breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
The series runs for five consecutive weeks, providing a consistent environment to learn and connect with other local families. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30, beginning March 3rd in the Northeastern Classroom.
