NWS Issues Winter Weather Advisory for Overnight Into Monday

weatherupdate

The forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory which will be in effect through 10:00a.m., Monday.

The NWS expects snow to develop in areas west of Highway 395 this evening and spread east overnight, with moderate to heavy snow at times into Monday morning.

Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches west of Highway 395 are likely, with 2 to 5 inches along and east of Highway 395 including Surprise Valley and northern Washoe County.

Snow levels start out at around 4,500 feet through early this evening, falling to valley floors overnight.

Roads will quickly become snow covered tonight and into Monday morning. The Monday morning commute will be impacted by delays and slick road conditions from snow.

We’ll keep track of the incoming series of storms and keep you posted here at SusanvilleStuff and our sister-site www.lassenweathernetwork.com.
