Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from late tonight through 9:00 Monday morning.
Here in Susanville and the Honey Lake Valley, along with both rural and urban areas across western Nevada and eastern California, we can expect widespread sub-freezing temperatures.
Widespread sub-freezing temperatures are expected Monday morning in both rural and urban areas across western Nevada and eastern California. Valley lows will range from 20 to 30 with a few locations in the teens Monday morning. Mountain valleys will dip well into the teens.
For many areas, this will be the first hard freeze of the fall season, killing unprotected garden plants and cold sensitive crops. Prepare today by harvesting any remaining garden plants, protecting other sensitive vegetation and winterizing irrigation systems.
