Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Storm Watch warning Lassen and eastern Plumas County residents to prepare for snow accumulations of up to 6 inches in the mountains surrounding Susanville between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Heavy snow is possible in higher elevations with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches west of Highway 395, with 1 to 3 inches elsewhere, expected.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could also impact the Thursday morning commute.
Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination.
Leave extra space between vehicles since it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.
