The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Winter Weather Advisory warning residents to prepare for wet and windy conditions overnight and into Saturday.
Snow is expected above 6,000 feet with rain down on the valley floor. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are forecast, except 3 to 8 inches west of Highway 395. The big story here is that winds will be gusting as high as 50mph.
Plan on slippery road conditions and strong winds between 2:00a.m. and 2:00p.m. Saturday. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
