Office of Education Celebrates Opportunity Academy Adult School Graduates

The Lassen County Office of Education proudly celebrated the accomplishments of adult learners during the Opportunity Academy Adult School Graduation Ceremony held on January 9th, at the Methodist Church in Susanville.

The ceremony was filled with family members, friends, and community supporters who gathered to honor graduates for their perseverance, dedication, and achievement.

A total of eleven students earned their high school diplomas, with ten graduates in attendance at the ceremony. Graduates recognized included Beauregard Beavers, Kimberly Calvillo, Mary Jane Cannon Wilson, Ashlea Cotner, Makia Hefner, Erica Holt, Joseph McKernan, Frankie Perez, Jessica Speed Roberts, Andrea Teter, and David Valdivia.

Opportunity Academy Adult School is a no-cost, flexible program offered by LCOE to support adult learners 18 years and older across Lassen County, including Doyle, Susanville, Westwood and surrounding communities.

Designed to meet the needs of adults balancing work, family, and life responsibilities, the program allows students to earn their high school diploma at their own pace and at no cost.

Students may choose from online or printed curriculum options, receive one-on-one tutoring, and benefit from personalized support throughout their educational journey.

Additional services include free transcript reviews, career and college guidance, and flexible scheduling to help students progress toward their goals in a way that works best for them.

Classes are offered locally at the Lassen Library and other community sites, ensuring access and convenience for learners across the county. Whether individuals are completing unfinished coursework or beginning a new educational chapter, Opportunity Academy provides the tools and encouragement needed to succeed, one credit at a time.

LCOE congratulates the Class of 2026 Opportunity Academy graduates and celebrates their commitment to education, personal growth, and lifelong learning.
