Despite the weatherman’s gloomy forecast for lots of rain the Historic Uptown Susanville Association had just the right amount of dreary for the big Safe and Sane Trick or Treat event on Friday afternoon. Kids came from all over the valley to take part in the annual festivities which included dancing by J&J Performing Arts, a costume contest, a pumpkin carving competition and trick or treating inside businesses up and down the street.
New to the event this year were the Coffin Racers – hand built wooden coffin shaped race carts sponsored by businesses and organizations around town.
