Patricia Ann Jones, 81, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Redding, California.
Born on April 9, 1943, Patricia, known affectionately as Pat, grew up in Cottonwood and Anderson, attending Anderson High School before continuing her education at Lassen Junior College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree. Pat had a dedicated career in administration, working as a bank teller at Bank of America before transitioning to higher education roles, including serving as the Physical Education Division Secretary at Humboldt State University, Assistant Registrar at Lassen Junior College, and working in Audit and Collections at CSU Stanislaus.
Pat was a devoted wife to her husband of 65 years, John L. Jones. She was a loving mother to Kimberly E. Jones, Kevin L. Jones, and Jon Jones. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Cameron, Katie, Courtney, Jessica, Julia, and Jon and a great-grandmother to six cherished great-grandchildren.
A lifelong fan of basketball, Pat was a fixture behind the Cougar bench when her husband John was coaching at Lassen College. She could always be heard cheering above the crowd at each level Coach was coaching at, or the games her children and grandchildren played. She found immense happiness in houseboating on Lake Shasta, a passion that began in childhood and continued throughout her life. She loved hosting family and friends on the boat and often said it was never as fun without a full boat of people.
A service to honor Pat’s life will be held on February 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Allen & Dahl Chapel, 21853 Honor Ct., Palo Cedro, CA 96073.
Her warmth and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
