You could not have asked for better weather for the 35th annual Lassen Sportsmen’s Club Junior Fishing Derby, held Saturday on Paiute Creek in Susanville’s Memorial Park and along the Susan River.
According to the Sportsmen’s Club more than three hundred kids registered for the event – 101 between the ages of two and five and 203 between six and fifteen.

Colt Raymond won a Custom Rod from Elegant Iris and Men’s Den for catchng the biggest fish.
The Sportsmanship Award went to Shawn Alexander and the Bill Kauffman Sportsmanship Award went to Elena ‘Pearl’ Avilla.
