More than 300 Lassen High School alumni, family and friends traveled from around the world to celebrate the high school they graduated from, and the hometown they love, Saturday at the Lassen High Alumni Association’s 42nd annual picnic at the Lassen County fairgrounds.
Alumni Association President Niki Jarrell and Vice President Portia Korver presided over the event, welcoming the crowd and introducing several speakers and presenting a special bouquet to former President Donna Morelini.
This year’s Alumni of the Year award was given to Sophia Wages who graduated in the Lassen High School class of 1970. The Alumni association recognized Wages for her continued support, dedication, and contributions to the Lassen High alumni community, saying that they are honored to celebrate her commitment to preserving the traditions and spirit of Lassen High School.
