Just in time for next week’s big Magical Country Christmas Celebration in uptown the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Board, the Lassen College Baseball team and a host of volunteers spent Monday building Susanville’s new community Christmas tree at the top of Main Street.
The new tree is quite a bit taller and wider than the old one, and a lot more complex to piece together.
The new tree is also set on a permanent concrete base, replacing the wooden box that had served as a base for the last decade.
“The new Christmas tree is officially up, and it looks incredible!” the Chamber posted yesterday to their Facebook page. “A huge thank you to Jason Colbert, NST, TNS, SD Concrete, the City of Susanville, Melanie Westbrook and Payless Building Supply for your hard work in creating the beautiful Christmas tree base and for your generous donations.”

“Susanville is brighter and more festive because of all of you!”
The Chamber held a special ribbon cutting at the tree Monday afternoon to celebrate its unveiling. The tree will be lit at 6:00 on December 6th as part of the uptown Magical Country Christmas Celebration.
