The Susanville Fire Hall on Main Street was abuzz with excitement Saturday as children of all ages visited to learn about firefighting. Local firefighters were on hand to demonstrate fire safety techniques, showcase their impressive equipment and to inspire the next generation of heroes.
From thrilling fire truck rides to engaging games and activities, there was something for everyone. A delicious barbecue cooked up by the fire department added to the festive atmosphere.
This year’s Fire Prevention Month theme, “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!” was a central focus. The Fire Department emphasized the importance of taking small but crucial steps to ensure safety.
