Susan River Fire District provided valuable training for firefighters from agencies throughout the valley last week as Chief Jim Uruburu coordinated a three-day exercise in a 150 year old farmhouse on Johnstonville Road which had been slated for demolition. Fire crews had a chance to train in the residence under extreme conditions.
“This type of training is essential for providing this community with well-trained fire fighters,” Chief Uruburu explains.
The exercise, according to Uruburu, allows personnel a chance to enhance their skills in suppression activities and to work safely in a controlled environment.
