The Lassen Community College nursing students held a big fundraising event Saturday morning at Susanville Ranch Park with proceeds going towards new equipment and supplies. Along with raising money for the program the 5K was designed by the nursing students to promote the benefits of exercise and outdoor activities in one of the most beautiful settings our community has to offer.
“Our nursing students have been working tirelessly to achieve academic excellence in the field of nursing and would like to get the community involved in a healthier lifestyle,” explains LCC Director of Nursing Christi Myers, RN, BSN.
This event was sponsored by LCC ASB and has been organized by LCC Nursing Students as part of a Complementary and Alternative Medicine Group Project.
According to Myers, donations will be used to support the future of the LCC LVN program, cohort activities and scholarships for future nursing students.
