The Susanville Indian Rancheria honored four 2025 graduates at a special ceremony held Thursday, May 22nd, in the Willow Room at the Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel, for friends, families, community and tribal leaders.
Speakers included Tribal Chairman Arian Hart, Interim Education Program Director Percy Tejada and Tribal Secretary/Treasurer Christi Choo.
Each graduate received a beautiful handmade stole and a special shadowbox commemorating their graduations.
Stephen Young, SIR Tribal Member gave a prayer in Maidu and Richard “Omee” Lent sang a Paiute prayer song for the gathering.
Special guests at the event included Patty Gunderson, LCOE Superintendent, Nancy Singh and Amanda Ackernecht, Title 6 Program, Lassen High School.
This year’s graduates are Zachary Hart, Tucker Heffley, Roberto Riquelme-Hefner and Christina Ramirez Guzman.
