Banner Lassen Does a Little Dance for a Great Cause!

The Pink Glove Dance is spreading … to Banner Lassen Medical Center.

More than 80 staff members at Banner Lassen Medical Center star will be starring in their own ‘Pink Glove Dance’ video to help spread the word about breast cancer awareness and prevention.

Banner Lassen’s video was submitted to a national competition, hoping to be  named the best Pink Glove Dance video of 2012.

The song used in Banner Lassen Medical Center’s video is “Evacuate the Dance Floor,” by Cascada. An interesting side note is that the artist gave permission to use this song specifically for the Pink Glove Dance competition.

This is the second annual competition sponsored by Medline Industries, producer of the original Pink Glove Dance video.

As part of the Pink Glove Dance 2012 competition, Banner Lassen Medical Center video will be posted on www.pinkglovedance.com this Friday, October 12th, along with other video submissions.

Viewers will be able to vote on their favorite video (voting requires a Facebook account).

The top three video vote-getters receive a donation in their name to the breast cancer charity of their choice; Banner Lassen Medical Center has chosen Relay for Life, Susanville. The winners will be announced November 2nd, on www.pinkglovedance.com and here on SusanvilleStuff.com

“Once we saw the original video and all the ones from last year’s competition, we immediately wanted to get involved to help make a difference at our facility, in our community and even around the country,” said Theresa Ritz, entry spokeswoman for Banner Lassen Medical Center. “Our employees were so excited and inspired to be part of our own Pink Glove Dance. It was not only a lot of fun to participate but the awareness and discussion about breast cancer that we hope to create from the video is the real satisfaction we’re hoping to take away from this experience.”

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the hospital is also hosting “Manicures, Massages, and Mammograms” each Friday in October. Women who schedule for screening mammograms on these days will be treated with free massages and manicures provided by local professionals.

Appointments will be scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26.  For more information call 252-2000.
