The Susanville Police Department is releasing details behind a harrassment complaint and an alledged assault that occured in the 800 block of Hall Street on Friday evening.
Police Lieutenant Matt Wood explained that officers from the department responded to a residence in the 800 block of Hall Street on the report of a subject being harassed around 6:00p.m.
When officers arrived they contacted a subject who reported that she had been assaulted while sitting in her vehicle by two subjects who proceeded to steal the keys to her vehicle and her cell phone.
According to police the victim identified 25 year-old Susanville resident Vanessa Hefner and 31 year-old Susanville resident Amy Whitewolf as the persons who had assaulted her.
Officers subsequently located Hefner and Whitewolf at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Hall Street.
As a result of the investigation, Hefner was arrested for robbery and interfering with a wireless device while the victim was attempting to call the police. Hefner was booked into the Lassen County Jail and held on $37,500 bail.
Whitewolf was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Whitewolf was booked into the Lassen County Jail and held on $4000 bail.
The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
