Police Department Seeking Information in Susanville Vandalism Spree Investigation

The Susanville Police Department is seeking information as it investigates the July 31st vandalism of businesses and homes across a ‘significant portion’ of the town.

According to Police Department Media Relations Contact Victoria Estrada the vandalism occurred in the areas of Ash Street, North Roop Street, North Weatherlow, North Street and Fifth Street.

“The majority of the damages were displayed in red paint,” explained Estrada. “The graffiti appears to boast gang related statements and the ‘marking’ of territory.”

“The Susanville Police takes these acts and the suggested messages seriously and we are working vigorously to identify the perpetrator of these vile acts.”

Any person that may have any information, or any item of evidence is encouraged to call the Susanville Police Department. Any person wishing to remain anonymous may call the Crime Stoppers tip line at (530) 502-TIPS (8477).

“We are especially interested in evidence that may have been left behind at a scene, painted hand or finger prints, any residential or business video that may have captured a suspect or vehicle,” said Estrada.
