In an effort to promote safe driving in school zones, Susanville Police Chief Kevin Jones says that the Police Department will be focusing on visibility and enforcement in school zones during peak school traffic hours.
“We will be performing concentrated patrols in the areas where student pedestrian and vehicle traffic is at high levels throughout the day,” said Jones on Friday.
“We will focus in the areas of our local elementary, middle and High Schools.”
According to Jones these concentrated patrols will include the presence of police vehicles, enforcement of traffic laws and radar speed units.
“The primary goal of this venture is the overall safety of our students, pedestrians and drivers in and around school zones on a daily basis.”
