A 27 year-old Susanville woman was taken by air-ambulance to Reno Saturday for treatment of a gunshot wound she received during an altercation in an apartment complex on Hall Street in Susanville.
According to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood at around 5:00 Saturday evening officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Hall Street on a report of a female subject that had been shot in the leg with a firearm.
When officers arrived on-scene they found the victim lying in the bedroom of an upstairs apartment. The woman, identified by the Susanville Police Department as 27 year-old Sarah Pinkerton, had been shot once in the calf area of her right leg with a firearm of unknown caliber during a confrontation with a group of subjects in the apartment.
The other subjects involved in the confrontation had already left the area prior to the arrival of the officers.
Pinkerton was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center by SEMSA ambulance and later flown by Mountain Life Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment of her injuries.
