Police Release Details of Armed Robbery at Local KFC Restaurant

policedepartment3The Susanville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Riverside Drive late Saturday evening.

Officers were dispatched to KFC at around 10:50 after receiving a report that an armed robbery had just occurred.

“When officers arrived,” explains Susanville Police Chief Tom Downing, “they learned that while KFC employees were making preparations to close for the night when they were confronted by a male subject who was armed with a handgun and demanded money.”

According to KFC staff the subject is described as, “a possible black male adult, 5’07″ tall and medium build.” The suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the robbery.

Upon receiving cash from the employees, the suspect fled on foot.
