Police Seek Public Help Identifying Downtown Shooting Suspect

Investigators from the Susanville Police Department are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a Monday night shooting in downtown Susanville that left a juvenile with a severe head injury.

According to SPD Corporal Cameron Monahan, Lassen County Dispatch Center received several 911 calls at around 10:00, reporting a shooting at the Spirit Gas station on Main Street.

Susanville Police officers and Lassen County Sheriffā€™s deputies responded to the area where they located a victim with a gunshot wound.

“Upon law enforcementā€™s arrival, a juvenile victim who will be unnamed for victimsā€™ confidentiality purposes, was located, suffering from a severe head wound,” explains Monahan.

The victim was promptly attended to and transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center for their injuries and was later transported out of the area for additional treatment.

“Witnesses and bystanders on scene described an altercation between two groups of people that led to the discharge of a firearm.”

The Susanville Police Department is investigating this incident and urges anyone with information on the identity of the suspect to promptly notify Corporal Monahan at 1.530.257.5603 or by email at [email protected].

The Susanville Police Department thanked SEMSA, Susanville Fire Department and Lassen County Sheriffā€™s Office for their assistance.
